Human Computation and Analytics

Beschreibung

Human Computation and Analytics

The course Human Computation and Analytics covers those aspects of Data Science, in which humans either produce the data, process and analyze it with the help of algorithms, or in which data is presented to humans by a computer system.

From the area of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), the basics of human perception and cognition, as well as some approaches for the design of usable systems are introduced. The following section from Visual Analytics (VA) covers the visual analysis of data by the human user, as well as some visualization techniques.

The lecture part on Human Computation (HC) gives an introduction to distributed data collection by humans (crowdsourcing) and the processing of data by humans, for example in the form of online games (HC).

The module examination is based on four to six teams’ presentations of their lab work half of which take place during each term. Thus, the module’s grading takes place at the end of the Summer term.

Lecture

The lecture will start on the 19th of October.
Date: Wednesday 14:00-16:00
Room: DZ001 LMU Main Building (take the staircase in front of the main entrance at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz 1, on the first floor go to the windows over Geschwister-Scholl-Platz, turn left and take the first staircase on your left half a staircase down)
